Johnson County Library Roars

Over 300 ear plugs were distributed to excited children and parents as a jet engine was fired up in front of the Central Resource Library and roared through the neighborhood last night. The jet engine was one of the highlights of last night’s Family Science Night. In all, over 500 children and adults engaged in hands-on science fun, met local scientists, and looked at the stars. Saturn’s rings were easily visible on a beautiful, clear, and amazingly warm February evening. Family Science Night was developed to help support area school districts' participation in the NASA’s Journey Through the Universe program.
